The course
A flat, fast loop course through the center of Berlin starting and finishing on Strasse des 17. Juni, near the Victory Column (Siegessaeule) in Tiergarten. The route passes Charlottenburg Palace, runs along Kurfuerstendamm past the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, through Potsdamer Platz and Alexanderplatz, past Checkpoint Charlie and Gendarmenmarkt square. The final stretch runs down Unter den Linden and through the Brandenburg Gate just before the finish line.
