Rome Marathon 2027

Rome, Italy

Verified dateMarch 14, 2027

The course

The course starts on Via dei Fori Imperiali in front of the Colosseum and loops around Rome, finishing near the Colosseum/Circus Maximus area. It passes St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain, crossing the Tiber River several times. Despite running through the city of seven hills, the course is mostly flat; the notable surface factor is cobblestone (sampietrini) sections covering a significant portion of the route, which makes footing uneven. Traffic-free road course, Gold Label road race.
