New York City Marathon 2026

New York, NY, USA

Verified dateNovember 1, 2026

The course

The course is a point-to-point tour of all five boroughs. It starts at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island with a climb over the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, then runs the length of Brooklyn and briefly through Queens. Runners cross the Queensboro Bridge into Manhattan, go up First Avenue, briefly into the Bronx via the Willis Avenue and Madison Avenue bridges, then return to Manhattan down Fifth Avenue and finish in Central Park near Tavern on the Green. Terrain is rolling with repeated bridge climbs rather than flat; the Verrazzano climb (miles 1-2) and the quiet Queensboro Bridge ascent (~mile 15) are the notable hills.
