Starts and finishes in Poipu on Kauai's south coast; the marathon and half share the first 11 miles along the coastline. The full marathon continues through Omao and Lawai, climbing to Kalaheo for ocean views before a long gradual descent back to Poipu Beach. Hilly course with about 2,200 feet of total climbing and a maximum elevation near 820 feet; paved roads.
