The course

Grandma's Marathon is a point-to-point course running from Two Harbors to Duluth, Minnesota, almost entirely along Scenic Highway 61 beside Lake Superior. The first eight miles are a gradual descent, the middle miles (roughly 9-16) roll through small lakeside communities, and the defining late-race challenge is Lemon Drop Hill at mile 22, a short climb of about 30 vertical feet. It finishes in Canal Park near the Aerial Lift Bridge. Net elevation drop is about 130 feet, though the rolling middle section makes it less flat than it appears.
