Big Sur International Marathon 2027

A point-to-point course entirely on California's Highway 1, starting near Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park (Big Sur Station) and finishing in Carmel. The first nine miles descend gently along the coast, followed by the roughly two-mile climb up Hurricane Point (summit 560 feet, between miles 10 and 12) and the descent to the Bixby Creek Bridge crossing at the halfway point. The second half is rolling and hilly past Garrapata Bridge and Point Lobos, finishing at the Crossroads Shopping Center in Carmel; total climbing is nearly 2,200 feet.
