The course
A fast, mostly flat urban loop through Barcelona with roughly 134 metres of total elevation gain. The redesigned course starts on the wide Passeig de Gracia near Placa de Catalunya, runs the long straight avenues of Gran Via and Diagonal, and passes Gaudi's Sagrada Familia around km 14. A Mediterranean waterfront section near Port Olimpic between km 26 and 30 leads back inland past Torre Glories, with the closing kilometres threading Parc de la Ciutadella before the finish beneath the Arc de Triomf.
